Ordinary Miracle Day – Sarah Maclaughlin

with 12 comments

Okay, I know it sounds ridiculous but I love the new CVS commercial – the one for caregivers.  To see it click here. Every time I hear the commercial I wish for the music to play on and on.   I finally decided I would find out who  sings it so I could find it on itunes.  Apparently, Kathy Fisher of Fisher the Band sings it.  It is not available for download.

I discovered that Sarah Maclaughlin also sings it.  She sang it in Charolette’s Web a few years ago, which I did not see.  And, she sang it the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade that year.  I must not have seen that either.

It is a beautiful song.

You can buy the album by clicking HERE.  Charlotte's Web, Music from the Motion Picture

Here’s Sarah’s rendition:

If you are interested, here are the lyrics:

The sky knows when its time to snow
You don’t need to teach a seed to grow
It’s just another ordinary miracle today
Life is like a gift they say
Wrapped up for you everyday
Open up and find a way
To give some of your own
Isn’t it remarkable’
Like every time a raindrop falls
It’s just another ordinary miracle today
Birds in winter have their fling
And always make it home by spring
It’s just another ordinary miracle today
When you wake up everyday
Please don’t throw your dreams away
Hold them close to your heart
Cause we are all a part
Of the ordinary miracle
Ordinary miracle
Do you want to see a miracle’
Its seems so exceptional
Things just work out after all
It’s just another ordinary miracle today
The sun comes up and shines so bright
It disappears again at night
It’s just another ordinary miracle today
I found Meadow Rabbit’s is also blogging about Ordinary Miracle Day.  I guess she listens to the song as she spins.

  4. No, you are not a weirdo! Or, maybe you are. But, you are amongst friends. You aren’t alone. I think that commercial is so great. It makes me smile every time that I hear it!

  5. [...] in the UGA J-school or ADD-like attention span but I really dig some commercials.  Similar to my Ordinary Miracle/CVS Commercial post, I decided to do a little investigating. Snoop. Snoop. [...]

  6. Hi, I really like this song and everything it stands for. So does my elderly mother. I’ve always been a big fan of Sarah as well.
I was just wondering if you would happen to know whether or not Sarah has by any chance recorded this,as a single ,or included it on one of her many cd’s ?
We’re very interested in getting our hands on it!

  8. I love these commercials too. I wonder whose idea it was to have orbs floating through the scenes.
