Back in the day
My cousin Jenifer posted this on Facebook this morning. Nice work, Jenifer. Wow. I can’t believe how young we are here. Nor, how funny we look. I believe it is about 1994 in this picture. Does that sound right, Amanda? It must have been at Christmas when we went out to the McMillan’s Tobacco Farm.
Judging by his hair cut and shirt, Michael is a soccor star.
This picture includes my cousins Richard and Michael Beam, Melissa McMillan and Amanda Currier.
Happy Friday

Troy Mediterranian Cuisine in Savannah
The sonographer recommended Troy Mediterranian Cuisine for a nice lunch to celebrate our news. Brian and I trust her judgement so we ate at the little family owned Turk-ish style restaurant.
I highly recommend it as it was affordable, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was excellent. Located across from Savannah Car Wash getting into the parking lot was tricky for us, States-Vegan’s. Thanks to Brian’s GPS we were able to navigate into the parking lot after one odd turn. The tables were topped with white paper cloths while the lights were dim. This tranquil and peaceful setting was finished with pretty paintings on the wall.

My lunch began with the Mixed Meze (a Turkish or Albanian reference to small portions) that was plenty to share with hub-ster. At a very reasonable $1o, the plate included hummus, stuffed grape leaves, falafel, baba ganoush and tabouli served with pita bread and garnishes of tomato and baby lettuces.
After this big appetizer, I had a side salad topped with traditional dressing. It was fresh, green and delicious.

Pink or Blue?
I think I have Brian convinced. Yes. Yay. Yahoo. We may find out the sex of Baby Hulsey.
Brian wants to add on to our house. I do not think I can handle remodeling during a pregnancy. It is just too stressful. Mixing a toddler, a pregnant woman, and construction crew sounds like a recipe for disaster.
I would like for Beatrice and the new baby to share a room as this is my justification for finding out this time. So, do you think the room will be all pink or include a bit of blue? Cast your vote on the poll to the right.

Be Careful On Your Next Girls Night Out
and loving wives however, they had gotten over-enthusiastic on the Bacardi
Breezers.
Incredibly drunk and walking home they needed to Pee, so they stopped in the
cemetery. One of them had nothing to wipe with so she thought she would
take off her panties and use them.
Her friend however was wearing a rather expensive pair of panties and did
not want to ruin them. She was lucky enough to squat down next to a grave
that had a wreath with a ribbon on it, so she proceeded to wipe with that.
After the girls did their business they proceeded to go home.
The next day one of the woman’s husband was concerned that his normally
sweet and innocent wife was still in bed hung over, so he phoned the other
husband and said, ‘These girl nights have got to stop! I’m starting to
suspect the worst. My wife came home with no panties!!’
‘That’s nothing’ said the other husband. ‘Mine came back with a card stuck
to her ass that said “From all of us at the Fire Station. We’ll never forget
you.”
Tnings I nave done.

Hello my lovely lovelies! Did you all have a beautiful and bright holiday, a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year? I sure hope so. Mine was different, without Dad but enjoyable. I have been pretty busy as I have not tended to my blog very well. Things are beginning to slow down so I am attempting to nurture my blog.
I missed you all and am excited to be back! Oot! Oot! Happy 2009! It’s going to be great. I can just feel it!

2008 recap
from pop-waffle I’m busy with fists to eyes, rubbing the blur of holiday gluttony, out of the way. I loved this great 2008 re-cap. I hope you do, too.
Circus Elephants
Admittedly, I have mixed emotions about the following announcement. Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey circus is coming to Savannah Civic Center Jan. 29 – Feb. 1. Frankly, I am a bit embarrassed and ashamed by my excitement. After realizing the unusual treatment animals undergo to perform laughable and batty performances, I have sworn off circus’ even the cream of the crop, even the “greatest show on earth.” I promised that I would never support such cruelty by taking my children to see a circus. But now…I want to.
It really is unacceptable to expect these wild, highly social, long living, free roaming, intelligent animals to live in confinement and perform the preposterously screwy tricks that we love. Elephants in sequins and monkeys on unicycles. I mean, come on, really. It’s awful. My sentiments expressed, my giddiness is still here.
I remember loving the circus as a child. My parents took me all the way to Macon. It was great. I came home with a plastic cup, my first snow cone experience, and great memories. Now, I want to share that with Beatrice. So, what is a woman who values animal treatment and rights to do?
Southern Mamas is giving away tickets so I signed up right away in hopes of being the winner. As the winner, there is no question. I will HAVE to go, right?
“The idea that it is funny to see wild animals coerced into acting like clumsy humans, or thrilling to see powerful beasts reduced to cringing cowards by a whipcracking trainer is primitive and medieval. It stems from the old idea that we are superior to other species and have the right to hold dominion over them.” —Dr. Desmond Morris, anthropologist, animal behaviorist
While I ponder the harsh travel conditions and lack of mental and physical stimulation of the stars of the circus vs. Beatrice’s possible enjoyment, you should skip over to Southern Mamas to win the contest for four passes for yourself. Anne is giving away two sets!
If you are interested in more information about circus animal live Click here to watch a video about elephant training; and, visit here to remind yourself why animals are not here for our entertainment. In the case you are thinking I am crazy for worrying so much, I am not alone. Sweden, Austria, Costa Rica, India, Finland, and Singapore have all banned or restricted the use of animals in entertainment. If the U.S. would do the same I wouldn’t have to face this dilemma.

New Year’s Day
![]() |
| From January 2009 |
Brian took Beatrice to Brent and Stephanie’s for a New Year’s Day to watch the UGA Game. The stomach bug still lurked deep within me as I was very, very thankful for this time to stay in bed. From Stephanie’s pictures, it looks like they had a great time. Boy, things have really changed over the years. This isn’t exactly how I remember watching the dawgs most of the last decade.
