Southern Mama’s has another great giveaway. And, this one sounds like it is right up Brian, Beatrice, and I’s alley. Here’s the re-post. Check it out and cross you fingers that we get tickets to the show!
The Savannah Music Festival isn’t just for adults.
In What Kind of Cat Are You @ the Trustees Theater, 6:30 pm Tues., March 31, composer, songsmith, and multi-instrumentalist Billy Jonas performs original songs, stories, and improvisations with voice, guitar, and Industrial Re-percussion a collection of instruments he made from found, foraged, and recycled objects.
This week, SoutherMamas is giving away TWO PAIRS of tickets to the Savannah concert and two Billy Jonas new Happy Accidents CDs so you and your child can join in on the funky folk singing, dancing, and banging-a-long. That means TWO sets of winners.
CORN SALADMix first 5 ingredients. Chill. Stir in chips just before serving. If you are going somewhere then take the chips with you. If not, they will get soggy.
This recipe may be made ahead of time and refrigrated – just remember not to add the chips until the salad makes it’s debut. I have also served this recipe without chilling as it was equally delicious.
Paula Deen has a similar Corn Salad recipe except she adds 1 cup of chopped Green Pepper and uses chili cheese corn chips instead of regular.
I usually make a 1/2 recipe. Oh, and I like to grate or dice the onions with a food processor so they are very fine. I have made it without doing either and it was okay; however I think the onions taste better when they are really fine.
This recipe goes well with fajitas, mexican dishes, sandwiches, and more. It is so good I can eat it all by itself. I usually find that people who like this dish, love this dish. Â I hope you enjoy it!

I thought these “Scrabble letter” pillows were very chic. Available here at Pillowhappy. I love word games – always have, always will. Scrabble is one of my most favorite, favorite, FAVORITE games. I used to play my roommates…and, always win. It was great.

Beatrice went to her first gymnastics class today. I can hardly believe she is old enough to go to a class alone. The Mother’s are not allowed in the gymnasium as we have stand outside and peer through windows. It was so much fun to watch her. It felt so maternal.
I was impressed. She did great, well, except the “follow the line” part. The teacher led the class across the gym, single-file along a line. Beatrice was no where near the line (the one on the floor or the one with the children in it). She was walking on mats and climbing up the ramps. It was pretty humorous.
I have all of the symptoms below:
Now, I know why. My haemoglobin count was below 8g. Our midwife called on Friday to say that I have sever anemia as I will need to take iron supplements three times a day. The additional vitamins should spin an interesting twist on the pregnancy discomfort level since my prenatals already make me queasy.
The bad news is the anemia; in addition, to the fact that this is how preclampsia started during my pregnancy with Beatrice. The good news is my fatigue, dizziness, and headaches can be explained.
The last weekend in February, Beatrice and I headed to St. Simons for a girls weekend that included a princess party with cousin Lilly. We ascended onto Castle Currier where we met Lilly, Amanda, Grandmother, and Mom in the coldest, darkest weather. Thankfully, the weather cleared during the ultimate princess party.
I regret that I did not get many photos as there were many photographer’s with better skill and equipment. I hope to have more photos to add to this post. Ut. Hum. So, if anyone reading this has more photos then please pick up the pace and get your photos uploaded. I am eager to see all the great footage. A case history is prescribed for this celebration. It was so well organized and oh-so-cute.
I have to admit that this was the party of the year. Really, these girls did a good job. There was no detail too small. Amanda, Abbigail, Mrs. Currier, and Lilly – you did well. You are to be commended and referred to for all future party planning.
