A couple of you emailed me personally in reference to the beagle at the Statesboro Animal Shelter.  I finally have an update for you.  Olive is alive.

Hi Christy,  Olive has been pulled from the shelter now!!    HOORAY!! – Holly
So, what does this mean?  This means that the Rescue Division of the Humane Society of Statesboro/Bulloch County has found a foster home for her.  With love, care, attention, and medical assistance they will do everything possible to bring her good health, to give her the opportunity she hasn’t had.  Upon a good bill of social and physical health, Olive (with her foster parents) will go to Anderson’s General Store, the Statesboro Mall, and Wal-mart Adoption Saturdays.  Her dream for a permenant family will also land her photo on www.petfinder.com.  The group charges a small adoption fee to try to re-coup some of the expenses of the animal’s care.
Rescuing an animal is no small task. Rather, it is a large task that requires time, love, energy, effort, trips to adoptions, and much more.
If you are interested in Olive or know someone who is then please contact the Statesboro/Bulloch County Humane Society for an interview.
She’s a sweet girl as I bet she will say “thank you so much, Olive-YOU!
