Glow in the dark Skull&Crossbones silly band earrings me
Fancy up me hearties. Yo ho!  This pair of glow-in-the-dark silly band skull earrings are sure to be the life of ye party and the highlight of me mates day.  These jewels would have been the perfect treasure to shiver me timbers at Beatrice’s Pirate party!
These pirate earrings from Black Feather Studios are as one-of-a-kind as the artist, who just launched the etsy store. I am be a huge fan of this young girl. My love goes waaaayyyy back to when she was a baby girl — and, used to come play with my sister, my dog and I at the beach. I am so impressed with her work. I can’t believe she can do this…the mediums she uses (like snake vertebrae) are naturally, ecclectically cool while the jewelry is feminine and pretty.
Congratulations, Black Feather Studio. Your shop is unique and beautiful…just like you and your sweet mama. Kudos!

Julie from Sprinkles Bath & Body made these cute products. Remember those straws I got from fort & field for the melting Witch Punch? Well, these are the same straws. I think this is very creative!

Lip lollies are all natural lip balm made to look like a real lollipop by using a striped paper straw for the stick…

i love maps…
and look at all the amazing things made with them…

i love, love, love all kinds map goodness
i like to read them, navigate by them. i always have. just ask brian. he even calls me, megellan.
i have always dreamt of a giant map in our house. although, i admit we don’t have one. i don’t keep many things but i have a stash of maps from national parks, denver, the atlanta olympics, st. simons, disney world, france, paris…just a big stash of maps. all that i have displayed, though, is a globe that we gave brian for father’s day one year and that is it. i hope to have a map put up by the end of the year. i love maps.

note….they have a great etsy store, too.
What are your thoughts on maps? Do you use them in your decorating? Do like more up-to-date, practical maps, or more decorative maps?

100 striped paper straws - red/white

I procured the red & white straws for the (super fun) Melting Witch Punch at Beatrice’s Over the Rainbow Party from Jessica’s shop on Etsy. She featured Lauren’s picture of the punch on her blog Fort & Field. Surprised by the post, my heart beamed when I recognized the brew. Oh, my heart is forever in love with Etsy. It makes me feel so good to buy from a vested, charismatic artist instead of a corporate store.

Thanks for the post and artwork, Jessica. And, thanks again for the pictures Lauren.

If only I could knit, I’d whip one of these out for somebody cute and small. From Rasmilla, on Etsy posted by A Room Somewhere.

We’re pregnant…just thought you should know.

here are other creative designs  to tell the world you have a new baby.

This silly and well crafted tree stump pin cushion from My Imaginary Boyfriend, on Etsy makes me smile.  A Room Somewherepointed it out.   I just love it! The pin cushion and the shop name are stellar. Couldn’t we all use an imaginary boyfriend to bring breakfast in bed, take the dog for a walk, wash the clothes and leave little envelopes of shopping money on the desk?  Since he is imaginary, I would also like for him to be a culinary delight, a handy man, and a romantic. Yeah! What other traits should this guy have?  A pilots license and a small plane to pick Boo up from St. Simons, a fine baby sitter to keep the boys so Lea and I can have a night out, shop-a-holic tendencies for Lauren’s companionship, and a good bottle of wine for Linda and Allison! What else can we make Mister Imaginary do?

LisaleonarddesignsIt is easy to see that  Lisa Leonard Designscreates each one of her pieces of jewelry with a lot of heart.  These make great gifts to new moms, grandmothers, bridesmaids, brides… well, any woman.

Ewww. Oooo. I am loving these fabric-covered bead bracelets at Annie + Olive, on etsy.  They also have lots of cute other things like hair clips.

Thanks Creature Comforts for introducing me to The Mayberry SparrowThemayberrysparrow.
There is something delightful and ever charming about  The Mayberry Sparrow.  I think the Custom Name Stamp: Bookplates would make a darling baby shower gift.  Don’t you think?
Beatrice could really use some of those for all of her books. Maybe I should get her a few.  Have I mentioned lately that she is infatuated with books…the same ones.  Of all of her collection, she wants me to read the same three books over, and over, and over.

Oh, back to my post. Sorry guys.

I like the sweet Matryoshka Doll Stamp, too.  Customize it for a crafty friend on her next birthday.  Your gift is sure to be a hit.

Thanks Creature Comforts. You made a fine introduction!
