Beatrice’s room is FULL of toys. For that matter, it seems our house is one giant toy box. Some of the curios are hand-me-downs while others are first hand jewels. Yet, of all the playthings and baubles she sometimes opts for simple things like this Burger King sack.
Brian crowned her with it during dinner the other night. She had the most fun with the novelty of a paper sack gone tiara. Our Queen of Everything became the Queen of Burger King while merrymaking the entirety of her reign.
I am going to try to remember this when the next issue of Pottery Barn Kids lands upon my mailbox or as I drool over the baby dolls and kitchen sets in Little Doses.
“Remember Mommy, the complimentary bag is just as fun as the most expensive trifle,” I promise to remind myself. Perhaps, I should make myself a sticky note reminder to place upon my wallet during the Christmas holidays!

More fun, even. Viva would much rather play with a cardboard tube from a roll of paper towels than any of her fancy toys.

When she was 20 months Sophie got one of those Burger King crowns (from a Christmas play when she was at OTC’s childcare) and she wore it FOR MONTHS. Until it disintegrated. Check out her blog for a mini movie of her wearing it.

Those pics are so cute. I thought they were actually posed and proffesional photos for a second, as good as they are and how they capture the moment so well. Moments like that are to be cherished.
Funny, but as you know, Bella lacks for no store bought toys and she doesn’t play that often with them, but my friends dog only has empty plastic coke bottles and a pair of socks in a not to play with and he plays with them all the time. Makes you realize that any item can be a toy with a little imagination, but its our own materialism that wants want every one else has.
Just remember that at Christmas and put the savings away for college and a trust/rainy day fund for her. She will appreciate it later.

Henry (my 3 year old) did this just last night. BTW- Burger King is always his pick for meals!
